Support questions for XML4C

XML4C is free, but is it unsupported? Not exactly. Find out how you can get IBM to answer your questions on the current XML4C and how you can request features in future.

  1. I can't use C++. Do you have a Java version?
  2. I found a bug -- what do I do?
  3. I have a question not covered here, or in the documentation -- who do I contact?

The Answers ...

I can't use C++. Do you have a Java version?

Yes. IBM also distributes a Java version of the XML parser. Find out all about it from the AlphaWorks site.

I found a bug -- what do I do?

Send the bug report to xml4c@us.ibm.com with the version number, the exact OS release number, the compiler version number, and a copy of the XML document that generates the error. The more information you can provide, the faster we can get a fix into the build!

I have a question not covered here, or in the documentation -- who do I contact?

First post your question on the XML4C discussion group on Alphaworks, and someone from the XML4C development team will answer that question. The list is monitored very closely and the response is usually within 24 hours. If you need to ask a special question privately, send email to xml4c@us.ibm.com and give us as much information as you can. We'll get back to you as soon as possible!
