God and Tenure

Dear friends,
It came to pass in my mind that for the many years that we've known one
another, we, as Christians, have never had fellowship together. Think of
how good and pleasing it would be to Him if our ties to one another were
built in Him instead of just our memories. I just kept invisioning how
awesome it would be if we didn't think of fellowshipping as something
that occurs only within our own perspective churches. Afterall, aren't
we all one body in Christ? Really, one of these days we should try to
convert one of our famous get togethers as a fellowship night where we
could sing praises and share about some of the awesome things that God
has been working in our lives. I think I've learned a lot of new things
up here, and I don't mean academically or of wordly knowledge. I'm just
excited to learn about the things that you guys have learned, how you've
grown, and to share your struggles. I mean, think about it... all of us
have prayed to God at one time or another, yet we've never prayed
together or lifted Him up while we were together. Isn't that sad how a
group of Chrsitians could actaully spend an entire day together and yet
forget to acknowledge God? pretty sad, huh?
I know that even within our own circle of friends we have quite a few
non-Christians. I think they should be our prayer concern, or at least a
part of it. Afterall, just as even secular friends we care for one
another quite a bit. But do we care enough? Can you imagine how
different it would be if they knew that we gathered together to pray and
to have fellowship?
"But Jesus said to then, "Only in his hometown and in his own house is a
prophet without honor."" Matthew 13:57
I think that particular verse says a lot about our character. For me
personally, I have a lot of difficulty in being myself at all times. I
mean, in this letter I come off as someone who is really knowledged in
the Word. I wish that were true. But you guys know how I am. You guys
know who I was. But the truth is, I feel like a hypocrite because
though I have known all of you to be Christians, I don't treat you as
such. Sorry. But I think this is especially true when I'm around our
non Christian friends. But if I was one character, my Christian self, at
all times....how different things would be... I just wanted to encourgae
you guys to try and be what God wants you to be at ALL times. As a body,
let's all try to ediyf one another to that goal and to "stimulate one
another to do good."
Well, I hope something I said caught your interest. Sorry it was so
long. Promise next time I'll keep it shorter.
