Boot machine over net and install Solaris (standalone, entire
dist plus OEM minus answerbook
).
(If the console is a v200, make sure AUTO NEWLINE - bit 2 -
is off, and say you're using a VT52.)
The partitioning I currently use is:
SUN1.05 (424) | or two SUN535's
|
0 / 20 (20) | 0 / 20 0 -- --
1 swap 250 (88) | 1 swap 29 1 swap 240
2 overlap 1002 (405) | 2 overlap 510 2 overlap 510
3 /var 100 (25) | 3 -- -- 3 /var 100
4 /local 110 -- | 4 /local 110 4 -- --
5 /opt 170 (55) | 5 -- -- 5 /opt 170
6 /usr 350 (215) | 6 /usr 350 6 -- --
7 -- -- -- | 7 -- -- 7 -- --
(You needn't bother mounting /var/mail, as setup-solaris does that
later.)
Note: Don't let it reboot automatically.
/a/etc/hostname.le0 is not set up.
(Before the reboot, all the new disk setup will be under /a.)
Also, add the gateway address
(128.6.4.3
128.6.5.15
128.6.25.20
128.6.57.9
128.6.60.3)
to
/a/etc/defaultrouter
at this point, and you won't have to muck with the
route
command in the next step.
When
hostname.le0
and
defaultrouter
are set up, you should reboot.
