NT support for unix filesystems
It is now possible to mount your unix directory from the DCS faculty
cluster on your NT machine.
In order to accomplish this, you will need a userid/password on the
LCSR NT server.
If you don't already have one of these, you can email
help@cs.rutgers.edu to request one.
To mount your unix home directory on your unix machine:
Your unix home directory should now show up in a folder.
Known problems:
There is a known problem with Microsoft Office files hanging on
opens through Samba over NFS fom Windows 2000 machines.
There is no known fix at this time.
It is a file locking incompatibility between MS Office software and NFS.
The workaround is to drag the file to your local machine and work on
it there.
