CS 211: Introduction to Computer Architecture

Spring 2025 with Minesh Patel (Sections 5-8)

This page describes the main resources you have available for your success in this course.

Canvas

Individual assignment and exam grades will be posted on Canvas. It is your responsibility to check grades to verify their correctness. If you think there is an issue or omission, call it to our attention immediately.

We do not compute your final letter grade within Canvas. Please see the syllabus grading breakdown to see how we convert your individual grades to a final letter grade.

Ed (Replacement for Piazza)

We are trying out EdStem as a modern, streamlined replacement for Piazza this semester. We have heard great things about Ed and hope that it will improve the student learning experience.

We will enroll you directly into Ed using the Scarletmail e-mail address associated with your netid. Please let us know if you have not been enrolled by the first week.

Please direct all questions to Ed as the preferred form of communication. Ed will get you help quickly and efficiently from as many resources as possible (classmates + TAs + instructor) compared with e-mailing the instructional staff.

Please exercise respect and basic ettiquete in class communication:

If you turn off Ed notifications and miss an important posting, you are responsible.

Rutgers CS Instructional Lab (ilab)

The CS Department has excellent doumentation on how to use the ilab machines.
