What do you like best about this course?:
Every class was a source of motivation for me , every class thought me something new and something exciting. The course contents are awesome and the instructor is very good. Its worth all the time and efforts.
Learning about what networks are made of (dns server, load balancer, switch, app server) and the role of each in contributing to user experience.
Prof Badri not only teaches very well but he inspires the students. The concepts are presented in such an organized manner that anybody can understand. I'm glad I took this course!

The course is very good. And professor covered various research papers along with the basics that help us to get a wider picture of the overall course.
The professor's enthusiasm about the latest technologies in Networking rubs off on us. He generates interest in the subject.

Focus on new concepts
Give a very systematical background about networks as well as the trends of this area.
A lot of modern techniques and trends of internet are introduced by the professor in class.
If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:
I would like to go a little slow on explaining the hardware papers /algorithms and try to be a little slow with the contents. I would rather go fast with the charts and statistics contents.
I would make it clearer what paper readings were due each week and put better links to papers on the website. A lot of the links are broken.
I'd give more assignments and probably allocated an entire week for SDN
May be some more practicality by implementing the routing like BGP.

The topics are varied, so to cover all the topics and papers, I would have to take up a extra lecture i.e. instead of single lec per week, I would have to give up aoter day (may be or 1:20 ours an o 3 hours), so that I could include man f he topics along wit examples for thorough understanding of the project.
it will be better if there are more contents about SDN.
I'll give more chance to do project, so that students could have more hand-on experience.

He motivated me to participate in the Juniper Networks SDN competition, and my team achieved 3rd position.
Great source of information towards SDN,Data center networking
from paper reading, got to know the state of art tech of internetworking
This course has help me understand various topics such as datacenters topology, DTCP, multipath, BGP, SDN various design schemes implemented by reading out the papers. The course has helped me out understand all these concepts very well and know the ongoing trends in today's world, which I think is most important for us.

I don't have much foundation in networks, but this class gives me a better view of the modern networks other than the traditional network knowledge.

The pace was somewhat fast, but since we need to cover many topics, it explains. So if possible, please arrange p for extra leces o cover all the topics very thoroughly and include some more examples in some important concepts.
I would not have the class at 8:40 in the morning. :)
maybe, class time could be changed to a time slot other than early morning.
